Robotic steam cleaning: a robust solution for industrial environments
In the quest for greater efficiency in industrial processes, the cleaning phase of mechanical components and production parts has long been a bottleneck. Traditional methods-such as solvent tanks, ultrasonic washes or high-pressure manual cleaning-are often slow, dangerous and uneven.
The integration of robotic systems with industrial steam generators is becoming a reliable solution to ensure consistent cleaning and sanitization in industrial settings.
Unlike fixed-nozzle spray arcs, the anthropomorphic robotic arm replicates the flexibility of the human hand, but with absolute repeatability. To maximize steam heat transfer, it is critical to maintain a constant distance between the nozzle and the surface (usually between 10 and 20 mm). The robot provides this “working distance” even on complex geometries, ensuring that the temperature applied to the surface remains stable.
The combination of steam and robotics enables:
– Repeatable, high-quality results
– Reduced operator exposure to chemicals or high temperatures
– Optimized cleaning cycles, even in hard-to-reach areas
